It was established in 1677 CE (Enpō 5) by the carpenter Kinzaemon Takamura from Okutsu, Bishu. In 1909 CE (Meiji 42), subsidiary shrines from the areas of Higashi-Chabe, Nishi-Chabe, and Moto-Chabe were consolidated, and the shrine was renamed Chabe Shrine. In 1956 CE (Shōwa 31), the old main hall, which had become unusable due to snow damage, was dismantled and restored, and the current main hall was established.
