鶴岡公園の敷地内にあり、境内はきれいに整備されています。春には約700本の桜が咲き誇る桜の名所であり、手水舎には季節の花が飾られています。秋には庄内大祭が開催され、大名行列も見られます。御朱印の受付や、公園内の他の神社での御朱印の授与も可能です。
