信濃三十三観音霊場札所第十九番に位置し、周辺には小菅神社や北竜湖などの美しい景色が広がっています。境内へは坂道を登る必要があり、里の風景を眺めながらの参拝が楽しめます。御朱印の受付はありますが、お墓の近くを通る必要があるため、小道を通って本堂へ向かうのがスムーズです。
