On April 19, 1911 CE (Meiji 44), Hachio Jinmura and Hagimori Jinmura were merged. The deity of Hachio Jinmura was enshrined at Hagimori Jinmura, and the shrine was renamed Hagimori Hachio Jinmura. Hachio Jinmura was founded during the Enkyu era and served as the local tutelary deity of Daihei Village. Hagimori Jinmura was established in 1585 CE (Tensho 13) after the fall of Hagimori Castle, when the spirit of the castle lord, Utsunomiya Fumimasa, was enshrined at the current site.
