Ban-sho-in
佐久市田口2893
A Soto sect temple located in Saku City, Nagano Prefecture, with the mountain name Dairyo-san. The main image is the Buddha Shakyamuni.
History
In 1560 CE (Eiroku 3), the temple received donations from Takeda Shingen. In 1584 CE (Tensho 12), Iida Yasunaga relocated Meihō-ji and converted it to the Soto sect to mourn his father. It was renamed Ban-sho-in after his father's posthumous name. During the Edo period, it received the patronage of the Tanoguchi Domain and served as the repository for the domain lord's memorial tablet.
