A Hosso-shu (Hossu) sect temple established as a base for the restoration project of the head temple, Yakushi-ji. Classes introducing traditional Japanese performing arts are also held here.
History
This Hosso-shu temple was founded in 1975. It was established as a Tokyo base to raise construction funds for the 'Hakuhō Garan Restoration Project' of the head temple, Yakushi-ji. The site was formerly the residence of Kagegetsu Yamamoto, a member of the Kajiin (a historical class of artisans). Even after being converted into a branch temple, Kagegetsu's reception room has been preserved.
