樹齢400年を誇る巨大なしだれ桜が有名で、春には多くの人が訪れます。室生集落の中に位置し、周辺には他にも大きな桜の巨木があります。境内には公衆トイレがあり、参拝の際は周辺の駐車場を利用します。なお、寺院の拝観や御朱印の受付は行われていません。
