Seiganji
京都市中京区桜之町453
A small, historic temple housing a large Buddha statue, historically revered by women.
What visitors say
Despite being located in the bustling Shinkyo shopping street, the temple grounds offer a calm and serene atmosphere. The main hall houses a magnificent statue of Amida Nyorai (Amitabha Buddha), with spacious areas for both the inner and outer sanctuaries. Seasonal Goshuin (shrine or temple calligraphic seal stamps) are also available. Visitors are required to remove their shoes before entering the main hall.
