越後湯沢駅から車で数分の場所にあり、落ち着いた趣のある雰囲気が特徴です。駐車場は比較的広いですが、参道が線路で分断されているなど場所の分かりづらさもあります。境内には川端康成の石碑があり、荘厳で厳かな空気が漂う静かな社です。
