History
This shrine was established by inviting the enshrined deity from the Oori-den (Weaving Hall) in the Ii district of Ise Province and enshrining a branch spirit. Since around the 13th year of the Meiji era (1880 CE), it has been worshipped as a deity of matchmaking between warp and weft threads. The current shrine buildings were completed in May of the 12th year of the Showa era (1937 CE). In June of the 16th year of the Heisei era (2004 CE), the shrine was registered as a Tangible Cultural Property by the national government.
