History
In 1859, coinciding with the opening of Yokohama Port, Sakuji Iwakuki invited the deity of Konpira Daigongen from Zendo-san in Sanuki Province and established worship in Minatozaki-cho. The shrine was relocated to Takashima-cho in 1872 and moved to its current location in Makanecho in 1882. Although damaged by the Great Kanto Earthquake and the Great Yokohama Air Raid, the current shrine buildings were rebuilt in 1988.
