History
Founded in 1811 CE (Bunka 8) by order of Takemori Kyogoku, the 7th lord of the Mineyama Domain. It enshrines a branch spirit (bunrei) of Konpira Gongen from Sanuki. After the enshrinement, the Sogoin Temple served as the head temple (bettō) until the separation of Shinto and Buddhism. The shrine was completely destroyed in the Northern Tango Earthquake but was rebuilt in 1933 CE (Shōwa 8).
