History
Founded in 1811 CE (Bunka 8) by the order of Takemori Kyōgoku, the 7th lord of the Mineyama Domain. It enshrines a branch spirit (bunrei) of Konpira Gongen from Sanuki. After the branch spirit was enshrined, the Zōchō-in temple served as the bettō (attendant temple) until the separation of Shinto and Buddhism. The shrine buildings were completely destroyed in the Northern Tango earthquake, but were rebuilt in 1933 CE (Shōwa 8).
