A Tendaishu (Tendai) Buddhist temple located in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture. It is also the 17th station of the New Chichibu 34 Sacred Sites Pilgrimage and the 13th station of the Musashi Adachi 100 Fudodo (Amitabha) Pilgrimage.
History
This Tendaishu temple was founded in 830 CE by the Great Master Jigaku Daishi Ennin. Since its founding, it has been maintained by local residents, even during periods when it had no resident priest. The current main hall was newly built in 1962 and was selected as an example of Modern Movement architecture in 2021.
