This shrine enshrines Amaterasu-Omikami, the Imperial Ancestor Deity and Sun God. She is the main enshrined deity of the Naiku (Inner Shrine) of Ise Jingu and serves as the head patron deity for national peace and good fortune.

The shrine features a vast precinct marked by a massive torii gate, with parks extending into the surrounding area. It is equipped with a free parking lot for visitors and hosts ceremonies such as Shichi-Go-San (a coming-of-age celebration for children aged seven, five, and three) and weddings. Goshuin (calligraphic seal stamps) can be obtained at the shrine office.
