日蓮宗の歴史に関わる書簡や彫刻、工芸品、古典籍など幅広い寺宝を収蔵しており、定期的に内容を変えて展示公開されています。建物は白く長い美しい外観で、拝観料は300円です。開館は基本的に日曜のみですが、特別展の際は土曜や祝祭日も開館することがあります。
