堺幕府の拠点や三好元長の墓所として知られる寺院です。大阪の陣で焼失したため場所は移転しており、本堂などの堂宇は新しく建て直されているため、歴史を感じさせない現代的な外観をしています。境内には高三隆達の墓や記念碑もあり、小唄や踊りの関係者が参拝する様子も見られます。
