History

The date of founding is unknown, but there are records of the shrine being granted the divine rank of Junior Fifth Rank, Upper Grade during the reign of Emperor Seiwa. During the Kamakura period, it was referred to as 'Minashi Daibosatsu.' In the early modern period, it was known as Minashi Daimyojin and Minashi Hachimangu. Worship was interrupted due to the turmoil of the Sengoku (Warring States) period, but from the fifth year of Genroku (1692 CE), it came under the affiliation of the Yoshida school of Shinto.
