In the 12th year of Kajo (845 CE), it was granted the court rank of Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade, and by the 16th year of Jogan (874 CE), it had risen to Senior Fifth Rank, Upper Grade. During the Edo period, Mizutani-san Fugen-ji Temple served as its attendant temple (Betto-ji).
