Tottori Toshogu
〒680-0015 鳥取県鳥取市上町87
This shrine was established in 1650 when Ikeda Mitsunaka, the first lord of the Tottori Domain, invited a branch spirit (bunrei) from Nikko Toshogu. Its main hall (honden) and karmon gate are designated as Important Cultural Properties of Japan.
What visitors say
A serene shrine nestled within a quiet forest, where the approach path and grounds exude a calm atmosphere. It is an ideal spot for strolling, especially during autumn when visitors can enjoy beautiful fall foliage. Goshuin (calligraphic seal stamps) are available at the Kongen Chaya tea house located next to the shrine gate; please note that the office is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
