Washi Shrine
さいたま市岩槻区小溝642
Located in Seta, Iwaki Ward, Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture, this shrine is also known as Seta Washi Shrine.
History
Founded in 1557 CE (Kōji 3), the shrine was formerly associated with the Kōkō-in temple as its Bekktōji (attendant temple). However, the temple was closed following the separation of Shinto and Buddhism in the early Meiji period. In 1873, the shrine was designated as a Mura-ya (village shrine), and in 1907, two nearby shrines were merged into it.
