History
During the founding of Hakusan in the Echigo region during the Yojo era, a disciple of Daishi Taisho named Gankoji stayed at the residence of Muraso Jiro. At that time, the shrine was established in the western part of the village. Because it is located south of Hakusan in Echigo, it was commonly known as Nan'gu (Southern Palace). In the ninth month of the 11th year of the Kyo'ho era, the shrine buildings were reconstructed by the village's hereditary worshippers, including Muraso Saburo.
