In the early 16th century, during a plague outbreak, Susanoo-no-Mikoto was invited from Konomiya Shrine in Kyoto, and Konomiya Shrine was established. Although it was separated from Konomiya Temple due to the Meiji era's separation of Shinto and Buddhism, the sacred objects and lineage have been inherited by this shrine.
