History
Founded in 1530 CE (Kyōroku 3) by Matsudaira Kiyoyasu. Based on a prophecy of the character "ze" (meaning "this" or "right") that Kiyoyasu saw in a dream, the temple was established under the Okazaki Castle with Mōgai Ijun as the founding abbot. It later became the ancestral temple of the Sakai clan and was relocated to Maebashi Domain in 1599 CE (Keichō 6).
