History
Founded during the Kyoho period (1716–1736 CE), it served as the tutelary deity of Abiko-juku (a post station). It was destroyed by a major fire in 1827 but was rebuilt during the Tenpo period (1830–1844 CE). In 1907, 13 surrounding shrines were merged into this shrine. The current shrine buildings were newly constructed in 1981 using reinforced concrete.
