History
It is said that in 674 CE (Hakuhō 3), Imibe Katsumaro enshrined three deities: Takamiyasunehita-no-Mikoto, Amanohirushi-no-Mikoto, and Yufutsune-no-Mikoto, on the hill of Sugiyama in Musashi Province. As a former village shrine of Chigasaki, it is considered one of the strong candidates for the identity of Sugiyama Shrine, the only Engishiki-listed shrine in Yokohama and in the former Musashi Province.

What visitors say
This shrine is located within a park on a hill, with the shrine buildings standing at the top of a steep stone staircase. The surroundings are lush with greenery and have a quiet atmosphere. Facilities such as a water purification pavilion, benches, and a waterside garden are also well-maintained. While it offers a calm environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city, visitors should be careful when climbing the steep stairs.
