Chikou-an
岐阜市岩田西3丁目683
A Soto sect temple with the White-Robed Kannon (Byakugo Kannon) as its principal image, bearing the mountain name Fumon-zan. It is also the 72nd station of the Mino Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage and a station for the Gifu Seven Lucky Gods, specifically enshrining Ebisu.
History
Founded in 1711 CE (Shoutoku 1) by the monk Chishou Genmei as Chishou-an. In 1739 CE (Genbun 4), following the passing of Chishou Genmei, the monk Seidou from Asami Yakushi-ji in Matsusaka, Ise, entered the temple. The temple was later revived by the monk Douin in the late Edo period. In 2012 CE (Heisei 24), the Gifu Seven Lucky Gods pilgrimage route was established, and the temple became a station for Ebisu.
