A Soto Zen Buddhist temple located in Saki, Minamichita Town, Aichi Prefecture. Its principal image is Enmei Jizo (the Jizo who extends life). It is also the 15th station of the Minamichita 33 Kannon Pilgrimage and the 45th station of the Shikoku Direct Transmission Kobo Daishi 88 Pilgrimage.
History
This Soto Zen temple was founded in 1558 CE (Eiroku 1). It houses the 'Rakuchu Rakugai Zu Byobu' (Screen Painting of the Capital Inside and Outside), a war trophy of Inao Shige-masa, a general of the Chita Peninsula Navy. The study (shoin) where the Meiji-era novelist Oguri Fuu-ya stayed is also preserved.
