History

The shrine was founded in 1689 by relocating a subsidiary shrine from the grounds of Zenyoji Temple in Shimo-Oniwa Village, Katsushika District, Musashi Province. In the late Edo period, the shrine buildings were damaged and were reconstructed in 1871. However, they were destroyed by air raids in 1944 and rebuilt in 1959. Subsequently, to address ground subsidence, the shrine buildings were reconstructed in 1984 along with ground raising works.
