History
開山は三光国斎国師で、当初は三戸郡小向村に三光庵として存在したが、後に南部信直によって中興された。盛岡城の建設に伴い上田門前町の高源寺旧地に移転し、元和4年には寺領を拝領、元禄年間に伽藍が再興された。文化6年には江戸の感応寺を模倣した五重塔が建設され、現在は盛岡観音三十三箇所第17番札所となっている。
