History
Founded in 1555 CE (Koji 1) during the late Muromachi period by Ijiri Tajimamori Nagasuke. The founding abbot (Kaizan) was Tokuyo Kōnen, who was invited from Chion-in. The original buildings were destroyed by fire during the Kinmon Incident, but were later rebuilt and remain to this day.
