History
Founded in 1313 CE (Showa 2) as a Hosso-shu (Fa-xiang) temple, it later converted to the Tendai-shu sect. In 1460 CE (Kansei 1), it converted to Jodo-shu under the leadership of Kaku-yo Seitan, and relocated in 1468 CE (Onin 2). It moved to its current vicinity in 1660 CE (Manji 3) and became the family temple (bodai-sho) of the Sudo family.
