〒942-0081 新潟県上越市五智6丁目1−11
A shrine enshrining Ōkuninushi-no-mikoto and Nunakawa-hime. It preserves wooden komainu (lion-dog statues) designated as municipal cultural properties, as well as ancient documents. A cluster of single-leaf reeds (hata-asa) associated with the saint Shinran, who was exiled to Echigo, grows on the grounds.
What visitors say
The spacious shrine grounds have an open atmosphere with a wide expanse of sky. A large parking lot with an adjacent restroom is located right in front, making access by car convenient. Goshuin (shrine seal stamps) are available as pre-written copies at the administrative office, and handwritten requests are also accepted. Statues and historical sites related to the saint Shinran are scattered in the surrounding area.
