In 1197 CE (Kenkyū 8), it converted to the Jodo-shu sect and was renamed Raiouji. It moved to Furudera-machi in 1503 CE (Bunkitsu 2) and to its current location in Umezawa-machi in 1661 CE (Kanbun 1).
