History
It is said to have been established on the site of Ganjin's residence. During the Kounin era, Kukai is said to have built a model of the South Circular Hall of Kofukuji at this temple. In the Kamakura period, precepts were taught here by Eisun of Sai-daiji and others. In the Muromachi period, it became a sub-temple of Daigenin. The temple collapsed during the Ansei earthquake but was revived in the Taisho period by Mitani Kogon.
