It was enshrined as the Ujigami of Kinu Village, which was established around the Genroku era (1688-1704). In 1910 (Meiji 43), the shrines of Hakusan, Suwa, and Tenjin were moved into its precincts. Due to the development of an industrial park, the shrine has since been relocated to the Asuwano district.
