On April 15, 1967, the branch office in Kitogayama, Komaki City, became independent as Fusenzu-ji. In 1982, the sixth abbot was excommunicated for violating the doctrines and regulations of Nichiren Shoshu. However, he continues to occupy and reside in Myoken-ji. The Nichiren Shoshu headquarters states that, due to a court ruling, the abbot is unable to conduct religious activities during his lifetime.
