History

In 1727 CE (Kyōhō 12), the main hall and other structures were newly built on the current site at the request of Tada Mitsuhide, the lord of Ogaki Castle. Since then, the shrine has been managed for generations by the head priest of Shona-in, and has received respect and support, including funding for the maintenance of the shrine buildings from the domain. All structures were destroyed by fire during the war in 1945 CE (Shōwa 20).
