The founding date is unknown, but it is said that Okamoto Echizen-no-kami Kandai served as the chief priest (Shinshu) in the 5th year of the Kōan era (1282 CE). On February 1, 1907 (Meiji 40), the Inari Shrine located in the same area known as Komiya was merged into this shrine. On August 22, 1941 (Shōwa 16), it was designated as a shrine eligible to receive offerings of food and cloth (Shinsen Heihaku-ryo).
