History

Records state that the kami were invited from Kaga Hakusan Himemiya Shrine during the Manshu era; however, the shrine has been worshipped since ancient times as the Ujigami of Fukumizu. The Okumiya (inner sanctuary) houses an eleven-faced Kannon and a large ancient Buddha statue. The current Haiden (worship hall) was rebuilt in August of Meiji 6 (1873) after purchasing the Kannon-do (Kannon Hall) from Eikou-ji Temple in Sakai Town.
