History
The temple was founded by Tsugaru Takanobu, and the founding abbot was Ganso, the fifth generation of Saiso-in. The origin of the temple lies in Tsugaru Takanobu's faith in Shugun Jizo (Victorious Army Jizo) and his invitation of the deity to be enshrined during his unification of the Tsugaru region. In 1609 CE (Keicho 14), the second daimyo of the domain, Tsugaru Shigemasa, relocated the temple to its current location.
