History
The founding date is unknown. In 1335 during the Nanbokucho period, the shrine was set on fire, forcing its relocation to various locations. During the Tensho era, Sassa Narimasa moved it to its current site. After Maeda Toshinaga entered the castle, it became the Ujigami (protective deity) of the Maeda clan. It was elevated to a Kensha (prefectural shrine) in the Meiji era but suffered destruction from fires and air raids before being rebuilt.
