Founded in 1673 CE (Kanbun 13) when Yoshida Kanhē Yasunobu invited a branch spirit from Edo Sanyo Gongen to establish the shrine. It suffered significant damage during the Great Yokohama Air Raid in 1945 CE (Shōwa 20). In 1977 CE (Shōwa 52), Inari Shrine was merged into it. In 2013 CE (Heisei 25), to celebrate the 340th anniversary of its enshrinement, a Sanyo torii gate was erected.
