It consists of a front shrine (Maemiyasama) situated at Kawakami Shokane in Nakatsugawa City and an inner shrine (Okumiya) located at the summit of Mount Hina. During the annual festival held on September 29, Hina Bunraku, designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Gifu Prefecture, is performed as an offering.

創建時期は不明。恵那山は伊弉冉命が天照大神を生んだ際の胞衣を納めた地であり、かつては山自体が御神体であったとされる。元和6年に前宮を新たに造営した際に、本宮が奥宮、前宮が本宮に変更された。明治4年に恵那郡の総鎮守総氏神となり、大正14年には県社となった。
