During the Edo period, the blind man Yamakawa Sadahisa prayed to Hiratsuka Myojin for promotion and obtained the rank of Kengyo (Inspector). Later, he prayed for the recovery of Tokugawa Iemitsu and repaired the shrine buildings, for which Iemitsu donated a Shuinchi (a tax-exempt land grant).
