History
It was established in 1280 CE (Kōan 3) by Nichiren's disciple, Jōgyō Ajari Nisshin, at the site of Nessonji Shijirō's residence, under the orders of Jissōji Chirō Nichigen to mourn the martyrs of the Neppan Persecution. It was later revived by Nimyō around the Gen'wa period (1615–1624).
