History
The shrine was established through a request for the presence of the kami in the 7th year of Emperor Ninken's reign. During the medieval period, it received devout reverence from the Hatakeyama clan, the shugo (military governors) of Noto. In the 3rd year of Koji (1557 CE), Hatakeyama Yoshihime donated 410 koku of rice as funds for the domain festival. In the 7th year of Tensho (1579 CE), Nagamasa Nagahide prayed here for victory in battle.
