This shrine enshrines the deities Hotota-no-Mikoto (Emperor Ojin), Jingu Kogo (Empress Jingū), and Himemitsu-no-Kami. It is a shrine dedicated to the gods of military fortune and victory. Since the time of the Genji clan, it has served as a guardian deity for the warrior class, boasting the highest number of shrines nationwide.
