This shrine enshrines Amaterasu-Omikami (the Great Goddess of the Sun). As the Imperial Ancestor Deity and the Sun Goddess, she is the primary enshrined deity (kami) of Ise Jingu Naiku (Ise Grand Shrine Inner Shrine) and serves as the head deity (soshi-shin) for the peace of the land and good fortune.
