Ukanomitama-no-Okami (Inari)

History

Before the new land reclamation projects of the Edo period, a branch spirit (bunrei) from Imakuma Shrine in Kawaguchi Village, Musashi Province, was enshrined and venerated as 'Imagoma-sama'. In the first year of Bunsei (1818 CE), Inari was enshrined as the guardian deity of the reclaimed land, and the shrine was rebuilt the following year. The shrine burned down in 1947 CE (Shōwa 22), but the current main hall (honden) and covering hall were newly constructed in 1949 CE (Shōwa 24).
